Under the Sea Mermaid Celebration

3/25/2018

We had the honor of creating this quick and easy table setup for little Miss Penny’s First Birthday! Filled with colors that pop, this setup was super exciting for me!
We made two coral reef side pieces to compliment the table and used starfish as cupcake holders! We used pool noodles, colored card stock , tissue pom-Pom’s from the dollar store, long dowels , a styrofoam wreath from the craft store and a glue gun to set these babies up!

Graham cracker crust cookie crumb was used in this setup as the sand!

Simple quick and easy under the sea cakepops also contributed to this table! You can view the tutorial for these cakepops under the tab “Tutorials.”

Clear balloons for bubbles and a fish net that we also got from the dollar store!
Above all, our cake! I was totally loving the way my Bubble Guppy Mermaid came out on this one ! I find it so crazy how a talent can improve with practice! I’ve made this mermaid earlier on in my caking career and it did not look as flawless as this one, LOL! Hope you love it! ❤️

Owl Love You Forever

I always love the challenge of a custom theme! I was able to bring these little owls to life at this “ Owl Love You Forever” Baby Shower! We designed our centerpieces and dessert table and were even able to get this mama’s -to-be old rocking chair reupholstered to match her Nursery theme! We took the inspiration for this shower right from her baby registry ❤️.

Let’s start with my favorite part, the cake !
I work best and get the most creative when I have free reign over the design . My ideas come within the moments that I am decorating! I love that!
Originally, the black hole in the middle was empty but then this phrase dawned on me! It was perfect because the gender was a surprise to them!
I ordered these cute little cookies as part of the decor for dessert table!
I also found these adorable little houses at my local craft store and they didn’t cost much!
Here we created the centerpieces. We tried to use elements in our decor the could become useful to her nursery. We couldn’t go wrong with diaper cakes! What new mama doesn’t need diapers!
I loved crafting our favors!! We found this cute little lip balm printable on Etsy and were able to find some lip balms at the dollar store! We had to ask the sales associate to see if they had more yellow in their stock! Fortunately for us, they did! So happy with the way these came out. At first, I had some trouble putting them together but then I quickly figured out the trick!
Last but not least, I found this cute little Owl book that was perfect for our guests to sign and leave the new baby a message ! We displayed this at the entrance along with a diaper bouquet that we crafted! Oh, and we crafted that welcome sign too!
here are some of the little extra details that we added to our final display! Hope you love it! We sure do!

This past January I had the honor of coordinating my best friends babyshower! I’ve been waiting for this day for soooo long ! To top it off she is having double the joy hence our theme “Two the moon and back!” I’m so excited to share the details with you!

Lets start of with our cake display! My incredible and amazing hubster built these trending table pillars for me! I was able to create the also trending organic balloon arch to hover over the top and wrap around the base.
We rented the gorgeous baby shower chair and of course, I made the cake ? :)!

We played many games with great prizes! My favorite was the hilarious onesie contest! Everyone brought a humorous onesie and the mama to be voted on her favorite one! The winner won agift card for dinner!
The Daddy to be is an accountant so this onesie was a perfect winner!

From mini personalized chocolate filled boxes ,mini barefoot wine bottles , a personalized belly sash, and custom baby moon cake topper - I thought out and crafted every detail of this shower!
Here is a before and after pic of the table setups!

Dessert Table Hacks

Save time and money when setting up a dessert table!
I’ll let you in on some secrets!

1- Choose a small table - the less space the less desserts and props you will need to fill the table!
This also makes it less expensive when purchasing a table cloth !( *You want to make sure the table cloth reaches the floor for a clean, elegant and classy look! ) This gold table cloth was purchased here TRLYC 60 x 120-Inch Rectangular Sequin Tablecloth Gold

2- Purchase cake stands from Home Goods or other discount store! My cake stands ranged from $6.99 to $12.99 . I remember trying to save money by "D.I.Y.ing" cake stands for my daughters Shopkins party , ughh!!! I ended up spending more money and energy on them than I would've by just purchasing them! Personally, It was totally not worth the money or time for me! And did I mention, they broke easily!! 😔
(Can't decide on the cake stand color? You can never go wrong with white!)

3-Minimize baking! - Get creative with already baked desserts you can purchase from your local market and customize them! I always think of the snacks and desserts my family loves from our local store! My local wholesale food store sells amazingly Delish chocolate chip cookies and other sweet-tooth satisfying desserts! For this Tory Burch themed party I got creative with some coconut macaroons and dipped them in coral colored chocolate melts to match this parties theme! Get creative! We also used Ferrero Rocher chocolates and placed them on mini cupcake stand .

4- Get mini apothecary jars and place them on risers! Sometimes these apothecary jars aka candy jars are pretty big (and expensive) and require a lot of candy to fill them up! Purchasing smaller ones only required less bags of candy! 1 bag of Hershey kisses, 1 bag of sixlets, and 1 bag of peach rings did the trick for my set! Get creative with what you fill them with! Here We also thought of caramel popcorn to go with our color scheme! One bag cost me $1.99 and filled up this slightly bigger candy jar! ( You can find them here Mantello Decor Glass Apothecary Jars (Clear, Small, Set of 3)

5- Fill a mini cupcake stand with something other than cupcakes! Here we chose the ever sooooo favorite Ferrero Rocher chocolates! Yum!! Here is that link Wilton 307-250 Cupcakes `n More 24-Count 4-Tier Mini Dessert Stand

6- Add height and elegance to your cake with dummy cakes! Yup ! I said it, dummies!! Can you guess which tiers are dummies?? It's a tough one!! This cake would've gone to waste if it were all cake!
Get those here :
LA Crafts 4 Piece Cake Dummy Set, Round

7. Purchase serving plates at your local party store! These plates ranged in price of only $1-$2!! They served as a nice color balance and added a touch of elegance to our desserts!

8. Combine cupcakes and cake pops on one tier. I made 8 cake pops and 15 cupcakes! You don't have to order a million cake pops to get a beautiful look, really! I promise !! It's the look and impression you want to reach! You will have a ton of leftovers if you order one of each dessert for every guest! Guests are usually full by the time dessert time comes around ,so don't go crazy asking yourself if you have enough! If the table is filled , then you have enough 😊

9- Mini Cakes- these are an awesome touch! These are dummies! Yes, I said it again! Took me all of 10-15 min to fondant each dummy and slap on some decorations! You know what's Even better, I can reuse the dummies for future parties!! (The stands are large candle holders I purchased at Home Goods and spray painted gold! )
here are those dummies
LACrafts Round 4" Cake Dummies, Set of 4

10- Still have space on that table? Use your party favors to fill up empty space!
Party favors usually match the decor and color scheme , so why not put them to good use!? Place them strategically on the table to fill it up!

And there you have it! A gorgeously decorated, eye catching table! Above all, it will make the guest of honor feel extra special on their big day!! 😊

Denyla's Frozen Party

8/22/2017

We were super busy this summer with the planning of my niece's Sweet 16! This only gave me about 1 -2 weeks to quickly bring something together for my little Princess who was turning 3 this year and is obsessed with Disney's Frozen! We kept this one small, but we surprised her with a special visit from Elsa!! This Elsa sang her heart out and it was so beautiful to see her live! She was actually my sweet friend’s daughter and we could not have asked for a better Elsa! You can see her live performance on my instagram @sugarcuppies or find her on You Tube Olivia Jadyn Herrera https://www.youtube.com/user/coachherrera10
I did the best I could with this one and it breaks my heart that I couldn't deliver what I had envisioned for her , but there is always next year 😊.
